Facial Acupuncture

facial acupuncture, also called acupuncture facelift or aculifting

Facial acupuncture is an approach that comes from Traditional Chinese Medicine, aimed at rebalancing the body’s functions and releasing tension located in the face and skull.

This gentle technique acts in particular on:

  • muscle tension in the face
  • blood and lymphatic circulation
  • nervous and emotional balance

It is part of an overall approach to care, in which the face is seen as a reflection of the internal state (stress, fatigue, overwork, functional imbalances).

🌿 Indications for the session

Facial acupuncture may be offered in cases of:

  • facial or jaw tension (bruxism, TMJ)
  • headaches, migraines
  • a feeling that the face is tense or tired
  • ENT problems (sinuses, congestion)
  • nervous fatigue, stress, anxiety
  • local circulatory imbalances

Some signs on the face may be linked to these internal imbalances:

  • feelings of puffiness or stagnation (notably dark circles or bags under the eyes), linked to circulation
  • facial features marked by repeated muscle tension
  • loss of firmness that may be associated with postural and tissue imbalances

👉 By releasing tension and improving circulation, the session may be accompanied by a feeling that the face is more relaxed, rested and balanced.

🧠 The link between the face and emotions

The face is an important area where internal tension is expressed.
Stress, fatigue or emotional overload can leave their mark there as tightness or discomfort.

Some areas of the face may reflect:

  • chronic muscle tension
  • less fluid circulation
  • a state of general fatigue

Acupuncture work therefore helps to encourage overall relaxation, both physical and emotional.

⚙️ What happens during the session

The session lasts about 45 minutes.

It begins with a discussion to identify your reason for coming and to adapt the treatment.
Fine single-use needles are then placed on specific points on the face and body.

The needles stay in place for about 20 minutes. The sensations are generally mild and well tolerated.

⚠️ Precautions and contraindications

Some situations require precautions or are contraindications to the session:

  • blood clotting disorders or anticoagulant treatment
  • pregnancy
  • current infections or a weakened immune system
  • serious conditions (cancer, severe illnesses)
  • migraines or dizziness on the day of the session
  • heart disease or uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • skin lesions, inflammation or local infections on the face

If in doubt, medical advice may be recommended.

💫 Observed effects

The session aims above all at functional rebalancing.

Patients often report:

  • a feeling of deep relaxation
  • an overall sense of calm
  • improved comfort in the face

👉 A more relaxed and rested face may also be observed, linked to reduced tension and improved circulation.

🔁 How often to have sessions

The frequency depends on your reason for coming and your general health.

  • for occasional support: as needed
  • for ongoing follow-up: a personalised schedule can be suggested

⚖️ Limits of the treatment

Acupuncture is part of a functional and overall approach.
It does not replace medical or surgical procedures when these are needed.

Results may vary from person to person and according to their general health.
