slimming acupuncture
Losing weight, slimming down, emotional pounds, snacking, appetite, sweet or salty cravings: these are words I hear very often at my practice.
If you would like to lose weight with acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, through a personalised assessment, may help you lose weight, slim down stubborn areas and regain a harmonious figure, vitality and energy, and even a lovely complexion.
Acupuncture can support weight loss.
What happens at the first session?
The first appointment begins with a standard examination. Then a Chinese-style assessment looks for the meridian causing the blockage in weight loss.
The acupuncturist makes a dietary and energetic diagnosis. The session lasts between 30 and 45 minutes.
Depending on the causes of the weight gain, the points targeted will act on willpower, nervousness, anxiety, impatience and sleep. When we are less stressed, we turn to healthier foods and avoid what I call “emotional eating”, with binges on sweet, fatty or salty foods.
The aim is also to feel better, less stressed and more energised. Depending on the profile, other points concern draining the kidney, liver or pancreas.
All this is complemented by nutrition: understanding which foods help you lose weight, as well as herbal medicine and trace elements to avoid the fatigue and stress caused by changes in diet. Rebalancing your diet for weight loss is a key point in achieving your goal. During the session, yoga exercises for weight loss and meditation for weight loss may be considered.
Your general health may improve and so may your mood: less need for snacking to “compensate” (sugar cravings and satiety). Some people notice, from the first sessions, that their taste for sugar and their appetite decrease. Some tell me they struggle to finish their plate.
Finally, it is also possible to act on symptoms such as digestive problems (bloating, etc.), water retention, cellulite, skin problems, etc.

How many sessions?
The number of sessions depends on the weight to be lost.
It is set according to each person’s goal, in particular the number of kilos to lose or the areas to treat, motivation, the need for support and how well the person responds to the method.
In general, between 3 and 10 sessions spread over several weeks or months are generally suggested. Sessions can be weekly, fortnightly or once a month.
